    CBI – Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Programme

    Overview

    PES is the lead implementer for the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) programme Access to Finance component in Kenya.

    The project undertakes pilots with financial institutions in Kenya to provide their clients – specifically women-owned and led enterprises with export potential – with access to bespoke support addressing key barriers to lending.

    Outcome

    PES successfully partnered with two local Financial Institutions and is evaluating applications from women-owned and women-led businesses for the inaugural Cohort I training programme covering financial management, business planning, digital marketing, technology and investor readiness.
